Brownsville Historical Society Activites - National Road Festival 5/17/2019 - 5/19/2019

This weekend, May 17^th – 19^th, the Brownsville Historical Society will be celebrating the history of the National Road at Nemacolin Castle! The weekend kicks off Friday evening with their famous Nemacolin Castle Candlelight Ghost Tours beginning at 7:00 p.m. (ghost tour tickets are $15 pp and must be purchased in advance on www.eventbrite.com).

On Saturday there will be vendors on the grounds all day beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a flag-raising conducted by the Boy Scouts of America at 10:00 a.m. The Castle will open for history tours from noon – 5:00 p.m. ($10 per adult/$5 for kids 8 & under). A Civil War encampment by the soldiers of the 11^th PA Reserves (40^th P.V.I.) who will be doing living history drills and demonstrations all weekend, in addition to Colonial Encampment. Ghost Tours will continue Saturday evening. (advance tickets only – purchase on Eventbrite).

Sunday Special: Castle history tours are half-price for adults! In honor of the National Road, all tickets for adults and kids will be $5.00 each. History tours on Sunday will run noon – 5:00 p.m. Be sure to come hungry - there will be lots of delicious food all weekend, including chicken legs, hot dogs, sweet sausage, cabbage & noodles, rigatoni, popcorn and MUCH MORE!

Hopwood Villagers – will be celebrating the National Pike Day Festival in Hopwood this Saturday, May 18^th – come out and enjoy the festivities along Route 40!
