Event Description: Seven Springs Mountain Resort is honored to host the 2012 International Bowhunting Organization’s (IBO) World Championships, from Wednesday, August 8th – Saturday, August 11th. The World Championship is an annual event in which approximately 1,000 contestants from more than 20 countries compete over the course of four days in more than 30 classes. Twenty-four ranges will be created throughout the woods and along the ski slopes and trails at Seven Springs. Throughout the course, there will be more than 400 3-D targets, approximately 20 targets per range. Teams of four to five shooters are assigned a set of three ranges each day where they fire from a designated spot at the targets. The Championship Round is scheduled for Saturday morning. The event also includes an archery trade show, which opens at noon on Wednesday. The resort will also host the Seven Springs Bowhunters Open at the World Championships, an event that lets non-qualified shooters compete on the same courses as the world qualifiers. The Open will be a two-day event during the World Championships. This Seven Springs Bowhunters Open is open to everyone. Registration info can be completed or downloaded at www.7springs.com.
