Event Description: A Searight Homecoming: Blythe Portraits Return to Fayette County…please join them as they unveil the long-lost portraits of William and Rachel Brownfield Searight. These paintings were made by the noted American artist David Gilmour Blythe while he lived in Uniontown. Frank Kurtik will deliver an illustrated lecture about Blythe's life and work, while Mick Gallis will provide an overview of the Searight family and will also speak about the nationwide odyssey of the portraits. The event will be held next Sunday, October 10th, at 2:00 p.m., at the Fayette County Museum at the former Abel Colley Tavern (1 mile west of The Searight Toll House on Route 40). Light refreshments will be served; please RSVP by October 8th by calling 724-439-4422 or emailing them at info@fayettehistory.org.
