Event Description: The Uniontown Rotary Club is sponsoring their Bi-Annual Health Awareness Screenings on Saturday, September 18th, from 6:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., at Senior Life (89 West Fayette Street, Uniontown). The Multiphasic Blood Test, including Lipid Profile, consists of 39 tests. At a cost of $38.00, this test screens for Diabetes, Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, Anemia and Cholesterol. Test results can be reviewed by a Lab Physician and sent directly to the individual for $7.00. Additional tests include Urine Testing ($10.00, Rheumatoid Arthritis ($8.00), Colon-Rectal Testing ($7.00), Thyroid Profile ($45.00) and a Prostate Cancer Screening Test ($30.00). Newly added is a Vitamin D Hydrox Test (40.00). This test will diagnose any Vitamin D deficiency which may be indicative of Osteomalacia, a softening of the bones; commonly called “Rickets” in children. In adults, the effects of this disease overlap with the more commonly known “Osteoporosis”. There are also discounted packages for men and women. The Super Special Men Package is $125.00 and includes the Multiphasic Test, PSA, CRP, Homocysteine and a home copy of the test results. The Super Special Women Package includes the Multiphasic Test, Thyroid Profile, Homocysteine and a home copy of the test results for $140.00. Mastercard, Visa and Discover are now being accepted as payment. Medicare and most insurances are accepted with a prescription from a physician.
