Event Description: The VFW Band will kick off the Storey Square Summer Concert Series on Thursday, July 1st. The FREE concerts will run for nine weeks this year, ending on Thursday, August 26th with the acclaimed jazz musician Mr. Harold Betters. Each program will run from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Entertainers will begin their set-up each Thursday about 5:00 p.m., encouraging residents and employees to stay in town where they can relax and enjoy an evening of FREE entertainment. Food will be provided on-site by local restaurants. Downtown retailers will be highlighted in return for their donation that will be raffled off by a partner nonprofit, with all proceeds benefiting the nonprofit organization. Ice cream may be purchased from Keno’s Hawaiian Shaved Ice, and popcorn is available from the State Theatre for the Arts. Come out for the music, leave the cooking to the chefs, and top it all off with a refreshing ice cream cone.
