The Mission of the Education Council is to coordinate the Fayette Chamber’s activities in regard to the institutions of learning in the local areas. The Council supports programs that positively impact the students’ understanding of the free enterprise system and in particular, the programs that contribute to school-to-career learning opportunities for students at all levels of education. The Council strives for maximum collaboration between the business and educational communities in developing these activities, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the students’ acquisition of the skills and knowledge necessary for successful careers. The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce works in partnership with the efforts of the Redstone Foundation, a 501(c)3 non profit corporation.
Membership: This council is made up of a cross representation of the business and educational community and is open to all Chamber members, both active and affiliate with an interest in working to better our educational systems.
Meeting dates and times: This council meets on the second Thursday of each month at various locations. The members pay for their own meals ($10 per meeting). The meetings begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. with a relaxed networking lunch (usually buffet) and proceed into discussion of agenda items. The meetings conclude at 1:00 p.m.
